Jewellery Box

This week we've been looking at this short story beginning:

On Monday we looked at B.O.Y.S. sentences - with but, or, yet, so (thanks to Alan Peat). We finished off some sentences that Mr Gregg started. Here are some of our good ones:

B

NiamhHer mum was chatting away happily, but she wanted to go home.
ClaraHer mum was chatting away happily, but Elizabeth wanted to go.
Amelia Her mum was chatting away happily, but Elizabeth was looking at all the jewels.
VegaThis was the first time she had been in here, but she knew a lot about it.
AbigailThis was the first time she had been in here, but she already knew where things were.

O

IreneThis could be an ordinary day, or it could be a mysterious day.
JesseThis could be an ordinary day, or something unexpected could happen
LuisThe voice she heard could be her imagination, or maybe her ears had heard the truth.
FernandoThe voice she heard could be her imagination, or it could be a friend of hers calling her.

Y

Amelia The shop was full of wonderful jewellery, yet something felt wrong.
RozennThe shop was full of wonderful jewellery, yet was dirty and rusty.
IreneShe ought to be enjoying this, yet she heard whispering.
SanikaShe ought to be enjoying this, yet she was scared.

S

AkshSomething was calling her, so she followed the voice
Pablo Something was calling her, so she wondered around the shop to find the real voice of that person.
MimiShe knew something was about to happen, so she tried to stop paying attention to the jewels.
IreneShe knew something was about to happen, so she opened the lid.

On Tuesday, we created some 2Ad sentences. Here are some of our best:

MimiIt was a boring, predictable shopping trip.
Pablo It was a tedious , lame shopping trip.
JesseIt was a strange, spooky shop with a colorful, shiny box.
NiamhInside,it was a weird, creepy shop with a spooky, freaky shopkeeper.

We're getting ready for a special, big writing session, with some interesting, exciting sentences!
