Alpacalypse!

There was a noise of running hooves as alpacas started crowding towards the King's palace. Everyone was chattering excitedly as they bustled towards the construction. There were news about the King summoning an alpaca. The heroic type of course. There had been a lot of kidnappings in Alpaconti lately, the supercontinent that they lived on. There has hardly been any in the last few thousand centuries. So, every one of the alpacas were talking about it. The palace was a huge structure nearly entirely made out of quartz blocks. A summoning was a special occasion because it had only happened twice. Then, everyone fell silent as the King suddenly came out of the palace and onto the balcony. He looked at the alpacas below.

ʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʡʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʡʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʡʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʡʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʡʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʡʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʡʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʡʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʡ
ʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʡʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʡʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʡʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʡʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʡʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʡʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʡʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʡʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʡ
ʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʡʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʡʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʡʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʡʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʡʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʡʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʡʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʡʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʢ• ͡•ʡ

"I am ready for the Summoning to begin," he said.

A butler walked up to him and gave him an enchanted sword named Ashrune. Then, he stabbed the sword in to the ground. Next, he muttered some ancient spells and after a few minutes, a blinding light flashed into the sky and the alpacas gasped. Something was falling from the sky! Everyone started panicking.

"Do not worry, citizens!" he shouted. "I will use a spell to stop it from getting hurt."

And that was what he did. The falling thing was now falling much slower than before so it was like it was floationg to the King's balcony.

The 'thing' was in fact, a little male alpaca with a headband that read 'Satoshi'. He was still asleep and didn't seem to notice that he, before, was falling from about 500 metres. While he was sleeping, he looked more like a small sheep than an alpaca.

(´〜`*) zzzZZZZZZZZZZZ

'He looks rather cute, to be honest.' thought the King. 'He also looks like Shoop Sheep the Cotton Ball'.

He sent for his butler to drag the sleeping Satoshi into a spare guest room.

4 hours later...

Satoshi suddenly woke up. He had woken up from a strange dream of alpacas. There was a king alpaca and it stuck a sword and then he started falling out of the sky. It was the weirdest dream he had in years! Yet while he was awake, he could still see them! Was he going CRAZY??? No he couldn't be...
Then the truth suddenly dawned to Satoshi... he had become an alpaca.....

"AAAAHHHH!!!"

Alpacas

An alpaca is a tamed species of South American camelid (even toed types of animals like the camel). They live in places like southern Peru, northern Bolivia, Ecuador and northern Chile. An alpaca mainly resembles a small llama.  There are two breeds of alpacas, Suri and the Huacaya. Surian alpacas look more like llamas while the Huacayan alpacas are more like sheep (fluffy). Most alpacas do not like being grabbed. Some alpacas tolerate being stroked or petted anywhere on their bodies, although many do not like their feet, lower legs, and especially their abdomen touched or handled. Alpacas make a variety of sounds. When they are in danger, they make a high-pitched, shrieking whine. Some breeds are known to make a "wark" noise when excited. Strange dogs – and even cats – can trigger this reaction. To signal friendly or submissive behavior, alpacas "cluck," or "click". Individuals vary, but most alpacas generally make a humming sound. Hums are often comfort noises, letting the other alpacas know they are present and content. The humming can take on many inflections and meanings. When males fight, they scream a warbling, bird-like cry, presumably intended to terrify the opponent. Alpacas require much less food than most animals of their size. They generally eat hay or grasses, but can eat some other plants (e.g. some leaves), and will normally try to chew on almost anything (e.g. empty bottle).
Alpacas are not widely known in France, but they are very popular in Japan. Right now, there is a trend in Japan called "Alpacasso" or "Alpakasso" depending on the brand. They are adorable but they cost a lot of money, though in eBay, they sell it at a cheaper price. Most people also like drawing alpacas, but they usually don't follow biological appearances. Here is an example:

The Trip to the Muséum De Toulouse

On Friday, it was the day of our school trip so we started getting ready like:
  • Going to the toilet
  • Putting our sketch books in our bags
  • Taking out unneeded things
  • Lining up to get lunch from Mrs Baldwin
  • Getting in partners
  • Mr Gregg reminding us about our groups
Then we got to the bus, it was HUGE! Inside, it was narrow because of the size of the seats. Near the middle, there were two tables. The first ones got to sit there, and Pablo and I were one of them, lucky us! J
When we got to the institution, we saw the elephant in the main bit of the museum. It was really MASSIVE. Everyone started crowding around so the last ones had to sit down and start drawing the elephants great big HIDE! (Including me) L
Next, we went it the gem gallery. They were so beautiful! It took me a while to choose a jewel though… Finally, I settled on an Autunite and wrote a haiku about it:

A lime-green beauty
Glowing neon in the dark
A star in the night

Later, we went to an area with skeletons in glass cabinets. My group chose the carcass of an Axis (kind of deer) though we didn't know that until we identified the skeleton with a weird machine thingy near us.

After that, we arrived to a part of building with many stuffed wildlife. We were supposed to choose a creature of our choice and sketch it. I chose a Genet (Je – net). It looked like a cross between a cat and a weasel or a ferret. I also wrote a haiku about it:

Slick amber fur
Tails swishing From side to side
Genets on the move

Later, we had a toilet break. The ones who didn’t need to go watched a documentary in a room with a big screen. It was about scientists releasing brown bears to the wild.
Afterwards, we exited the museum (with our bags of course!) and walked to the Jardin De Plantes. Most of us ran to get a bench. There was also a crazy looking white cockerel as well, what Miss Whittaker calls ‘fancy chickens’!
When we’d finished lunch, we went in a line and set off for the playground. There were already a lot of children but most of them were leaving anyway. There were a couple of fierce children but that was the only bad thing that happened that day. We got to the bus after that because it was                                                                   Golden-time!

Riddles 1

See if you can solve all of these riddles!

1. What is the only question you can't say 'Yes' to?

2. As I was going to St. Ives,
I met a man with seven wives,
    Each wife had seven sacks,
    Each sack had seven cats,
    Each cat had seven kits:
    Kits, cats, sacks, and wives,
How many were there going to St. Ives?

3. A thief enters a shop and threatens the clerk, forcing him to open the safe. The clerk says, "The code for the safe is different every day, and if you hurt me you'll never get the code". But the thief manages to guess the code on his own.

4. When you know not what I am, then I am something. But when you know what I am, then I am nothing.
5. During what month do people sleep the least?
6. I'm easy to get into, but it is hard to get out of me.
7. What always eats but is always hungry?
8. Throw it off the highest building, and I'll not break. But put me in the ocean, and I will.
9. I'm as light as a feather yet the strongest man can't hold me for more than a minute.

10. Pronounced as one letter,
      And written with three
      Two letters there are,
      And only in me,
      I'm double, I'm single,
      I'm black blue and grey,
      I'm read from both sides,
      And the same either way.

Put your answers in the comments!

The Vanishing Cats Part 2

Chapter 2, The Backstory
"Sit down, everyone. As you have discovered my secret, I shall tell you the whole story," said Captain.
"But," burst out Shamrock.
"No 'buts' Shamrock, do you or do you not want to listen to the story?"
"I do" replied Shamrock.
"Alright then, I will" he said, taking a deep breath.

Captain's Backstory
"Varjak and Holly got closer after defeating Sally Bones. That is it. But in a few months, they had me. Varjak thought that I could keep the Way alive by teaching it to me. I got nearly all of them right in just one week, but I didn't know how to do the last skill, Insight. I tried it week after week, month after month, but I kept failing, and failing, and failing. But, Holly Bones struck. She was just as deadly as Sally Bones, if not a lot stronger. She also had her hench-cats so it was impossible to strike her. Varjak, Holly and I fled, because otherwise they would kill us, and of course, they cared about me. We stayed hidden for a few days, but eventually, they found us and we had no choice but to fight. Holly and Varjak fought hard, but got badly injured trying to protect me. So when Holly Bones came to finish them off, flung on to her and started gnawing her and protected my parents using 6 of the Skills. After hours of fighting, they fled and I carried my parents into the same park where they first met. Gladly, they survived. And now, I know the all the Skills. But I am not happy. Holly Bones will strike again and avenge for her mother. You must stop her. But don't kill her, she is important. Try to make her see her wrongdoing, before it is too late"

One Cat and her Girl Part 1

Meow!
Catherine heard a cat. What was it doing in the middle of the night?
Mew!
She heard it again. The cat sounded like it was in agony.
'I'd better help that poor cat' she thought.
So she grabbed her coat, silently crept past her parents' room and went outside. It was freezing cold out in the garden, but Catherine ignored it and tried to find cat in the dark.
Mew!
Now she knew where the cat was. She felt for the cat but instead, she touched a shard of glass. Then another, then another, then another. The cat had bits of glass in it!
Catherine was shocked. She hadn't expected that many! She ran back into the house and called her parents frantically. Then, she made them call an emergency ambulance though it was only for humans. But when she called the ambulance, she sounded so high pitched and desperate that they switched the lights on.
NEE NAW, NEE NAW, NEE NAW!!!!
They've arrived! Catherine lead them to the cat. It was meowing piteously.
"Don't be scared, little cat, you'll be as right as rain after you come out of the hospital" she said.
Then she watched them carry the cat into the ambulance and then drive away.

The Vanishing Cats Part 1

Chapter 1, The Return

Pat, Pat, Pat, Pat

I woke up. What was that noise? I started following the sound, it sounded like a cat was going to Shamrock's room. When I arrived at his door, I saw a black and white cat with only one eye. She was edging near Shamrock, who was sound asleep. Her claws were out, and she looked like she was going to rip Shamrock's ears and tail off.
"Sally Bones?" I whispered, in disbelief.
It couldn't be, Varjak Paw had defeated her long ago, making her fall to her death.
The cat heard me, swore and then, before I could catch her, she ran silently ran away, accidently knocking Shamrock's vase on to the ground.
"I'll be back, Varjak Paw, I'll be back!"
Crash!
"Sally Bones!" I yelled at the top of my voice, which I nearly never did. "She's back! She was never dead!"
Every cat who heard started panicking manically.
"What will happen to us?"
"I don't know!"
'Smart idea, Jade, smart idea' I thought. 'Totally clever of you to make everyone panic'
Captain, our leader rushed in.
"What are you talking about, Jade?" he asked. "Sally Bones is dead"
"But I saw her!" I protested. "She was black and what, with only one eye!"
"Sally Bones' daughter, Holly Bones, is back" he said, eyes flashing. "
You must stop her. She will avenge Sally Bones, and Varjak's closest relative right now, is me, I am the son of Varjak Paw and Holly"

How To Train Your Dragon (and series) Book Review

How to Train Your Dragon is the first book of the series and is written and illustrated by Cressida Cowell. The book series are one of my favourites. It is about a Viking boy called Hiccup but nearly everyone thinks he’s useless even though he is the son of the Viking leader, Stork the Vast. He was old enough to train a dragon so he and the other boys in the Pirate Training Programme go to a cave and pick one of the
hibernating dragons in the dark. But then Fishlegs, Hiccup’s only friend, accidentally trips over a sleeping dragon so it wakes up and the boys run for their lives. Fishlegs hasn't got any dragons so Hiccup gives him his and on the way out, he goes back into the cave and takes the closest one to him. When he discovers that the dragon was only a Common or Garden Dragon, Snoutlout, the meanest boy in the Pirate Training Programme, sneers at him and boasts about him getting a Monstrous Nightmare Dragon, even though he’s not allowed one because only Viking leaders (or future ones) could train one according to the Viking laws. But then Fishlegs quickly tells a false story that Toothless is a rare Toothless Daydream and that they are very vicious.

The movie, How To Train Your Dragon, was based of the series and I cannot decide which one is better! When I first started reading the series, I didn't know anything because I watched the movie first. Tip for all of you: Always read the books before you watch the movie. I think that Astrid (from the movie) was based off Camicazi, there are lots of similarities, don't you think so too?

I hate Snoutlout because he is so mean, rude and arrogant. I don’t know why he never gets punished for mocking the son of a Viking chief! Though he is Hiccup's cousin.

My favourite character is Toothless because he is so funny and naughty! In later books, there are conversations with him and I found them HILARIOUS!

I recommend that you read these books because there's a gripping story line and full of mythology and comedy (though sometimes it is quite rude!).

The Heroes Of Altheas Introduction

So this is kind of like Pablo's Shyneert world except, less crazy and a bit more... serious.
Altheas (al-thee-as or al-thee-s) is a land where people have magical abilities that they could learn by reading spell books, but they each learn a single unique power at birth, and one for each person in their world! The people of Altheas eat pretty much the same things that we eat except more SPICY or SWEET. And they live in houses that look a lot like the houses in Pibrac but more... nice. Altheas is very peaceful and a luxury, machines that designs animals (in their land, there are no animals so they create them for forests, rivers, etc.), breezes that if you listen you could hear the secret music of nature, and LOLLIPOPS THAT CHANGE COLOUR EVERY SECOND AND TASTES OF VICTORY BERRIES (just joking!) (but seriously). Okay, enough about the world and let's get on with the plot, so the hero is a boy who helps his father who is a blacksmith. His name is Will Smith. The heroine of the story is his loyal guard puppy, Willow. She is shy but will try to do her best. The villain of the story is Lord Alastor. He wants to destroy the harmony in Altheas. But we all know...

So by the time I finish writing the first chapter, you should know all that stuff.

My Imaginary Friend

Before we begin, I'd like to tell you that I have lots of imaginary friends, and this one is the newest member.

My imaginary friend is a female spirit of a cat, though closely resembling a wolf. Her name is Eerie. She is a deep black with wisps of hazy purple smoke coming from behind her neck. Her eyes are a vague white and they glint red in the dark. She appears when I am scared because her smoke is a censor though sometimes I deliberately want to play with her. Eerie has the abilities to send nightmares to people and shape-shift into
Eerie in her Mega form
something that you most fear. She has two forms, her Normal form and her Mega form (she turns Mega when she fights something strong). It is not wise to upset her, as she also has a very nasty bite that burns or poisons, sometimes even paralyzing you!

Eerie usually eats anything, but as a treat, she likes to suck power from electronics so she could scare people! She is allergic to sugar. She is really lucky (if she's in a good mood) because she has a special amulet. The pendant from the amulet is made of a rare gem called the Mist stone. Nobody can touch her except me because to everyone will see nothing but they might only feel the air being thicker (though to Eerie it will be like being thumped really hard on the head with a steel hammer!). People can only feel her if they had eaten a magical fruit called the Element berry (the hardest fruit to obtain).

She travels with me to distant lands like the planet of Shyneert. Of course, I cannot ride on her, but I hold her hand we whiz off. She especially like to go to Lavender Town (Pokemon reference) and adventure in Lavender Town's Pokemon Tower, where there are ghost Pokemon.

The Journey of the Cheese Sandwich

Warning: There is one murder in this story!

Once upon a time, there was a cheese sandwich. The cheese sandwich was called Cheese, and he was very, very selfish and confident.

One day, he heard a rumour that every cheese sandwich who got this special power got eaten up. The only way to get that power was to say a very bad word. A swear word in fact. The swear word was: Poop. Didn't expect that did you? Well, cheese sandwiches are weird, so just ignore what I wrote. So Cheese said the evil word, "Poop!" and suddenly, he sprouted legs!
"Hmmm! I look handsome!" he said, preening himself.
He quickly got used to his new pair of legs and then, this thing sucked him up. The thing, in fact, was a random croissant with a beard. The croissant was a magical croissant and whenever someone came next to him, he always says, "You shall not pass!". He was very magical indeed.

So the cheese sandwich traveled all the way to our universe, into Earth, and onto a table. Suddenly, a human arrived. He saw Cheese and said, "Ooooooo! A sandwich!", and ate him up.

                                                                  The End

No cheese sandwiches were hurt. Neither were Gandalfs.

How To Draw Manga

I'm going to start a series of How to Draws so stay tuned! Sorry but I don't know how to draw the body! I'm gonna try my best to explain but if you don't understand then here's 2 links:
How to draw a Manga girl
How to draw a male Manga character
If you don't know how to draw the eyes then watch this (maybe watch this before drawing your Manga): Ways to draw Manga eyes
I hope this is useful. Just leave in the comments if it helped you, or not.

Step 1:
Sketch a rough circle, and don't use those thingies shaped like circles because then your Manga character would look really, really weird, trust me.

Step 2:
Draw a horizontal line under the circle so that the circle is sitting neatly on the line.

Step 3:
Draw a vertical line in the from the top to the bottom of the circle. If you do it longer then it will be even more helpful and will be easier.

Step 4:
Start outlining the shape of the head. The chin and jaw area has to be a bit pointy like this (only for a girl's, because they're easier to do, if you ask me, if you want the boy, it'll be easier if you follow the video and if the face looks too big, you can resize it by redrawing the lines! ) :

Step 5:
Draw your character's neck. I don't know how to do it properly so I suggest you leave it out.

Step 6:
Draw another horizontal line, maybe 1 or 2 centimeters above the first one you have drawn.

Step 7:
Start sketching the eyes. The upper line would be the bottom of your character's eyes.

Step 8:
Draw the circle-ly thingies of the eyes. You have to watch the videos.

Step 9:
Remember, the younger your Manga is, the bigger the eyes are.

Step 10:
Try to even the eyes out. If your character is winking, draw it a bit like an arch sort of line.

Step 11:
Draw the eyebrows. Draw them depending on their moods.

Step 12:
Erase the lines that you have drawn. You won't need them anymore!

Step 13:
Draw the hair. And the more lines you put on the hair, the more realistic it becomes.

Step 14:
Shade it. It is really hard for me as well so you should maybe not do it?

Thanks and please tell me your results by commenting! Bye!

Mimi's News of the Day

Science has finally done it! You could now print food out with a 3D printer! And it is no joke! For example, if you want a hamburger, you could just print it out and eat it.

How is that possible?

While 4B have been busy rehearsing for their assembly, children in 4G have been looking at dragon poems, starting with Mimi and Pablo's dragon poems on this blog.

We also read a book Mimi was inspired by - Tell Me A Dragon - which Miss Ash had shared back in Year 2.

Then we looked at Brian Patten's poem, A Small Dragon. It starts with this verse:
I’ve found a small dragon in the woodshed.
Think it must have come from deep inside a forest
because it’s damp and green and leaves
are still reflecting in its eyes.
We answered comprehension questions on the poem. One of the questions was, "How is it possible that leaves are still reflecting in his eyes?"

We answered on a Padlet wall:

I particularly liked Jacques' answer:
"Because everything is possible in a poet's mind and in MY WORLD EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE."

My Treasure: Gem Box

My mum and dad bought my gem box for me especially for Christmas. We saw it in a souvenir shop in Futuroscope. I was really pleased, as I love to collect smooth and shiny rocks and stones of all sizes in my garden.
The box was made of clear plastic so it wouldn’t break. The bottom of the box was sleek black. The stones are nicely cut and polished. Here is a list of the gems and a description:
·         Red Jasper
It has colour very much like blood!
·         Hematite
It is black and shimmers in the light.
·         Pink Quartz
Delicate like a little pink rose.
         Aventurine
My favourite. It is a grey-ish green colour.
      Agate
Fiery orange.
·         Amethyst
A beautiful violet.
·         Cornaline
Its colour is like a corn’s. No wonder!
·         Citrine
Lime coloured gem.
·         Sodalite
A dark blue colour.
·         Aquamarine
The tips are dark and gets light as it gets nearer to the middle!
·         Rock Crystal
It is a clear grey.
·         Calcite
Very much like Citrine but has a lighter green.
The box was just made in factory but some of the gem stones have had amazing adventures, like the Agate, because it is a rare stone made from volcanoes.

Tell Me A Dragon

My dragon is a moon dragon.
He has shadowy black scales,
colourless white claws and
silver grey eyes that are pale.

My dragon's name is Pitch.

My dragon is made from the moon and stars,
I got him when he was only an egg.
The egg was gloomy blue with stars on it.
It was five times the size of a peg.

My dragon likes raw meat,
The souls of nightmares, he especially likes to eat.

My dragon is serious at times,
but he always remains kind.

But if you touch him on his ear,
He gets really aggressive.
He'll breath fire on your rear!

My dragon guards the gates of hell,
When I am at class.
He soars back home when he hears the ringing of the school bell.

My dragon chases dreams,
nice ones and ones that make you scream!

My dragon's twin is a sun dragon.
Her name is call Celestial.
They usually like each other,
but sometimes they pretend they're not real!

My dragon and I, sleep together at night,
and when I am around him, I do not have frights.

Tell me about your dragon.
