Museum Trip

On Friday I got up and took my shower. Next I leaped into the car and drove to school. Then we hopped on the bus. After a while we came to the museum of natural history in Toulouse.
The first thing I saw was the giant elephant I had to sketch it.
After that we came to the minerals and gems my favourite gem was called Doiptase in France.
Then we watch a short video about how the continents have drifted.
Soon we came to the skeletons we had to choose an animal I don’t remember.

Suddenly I saw a spider ahhhhhh I found out we were in the animal room.

Charlotte's Web

By Ryan

Charlotte's Web is a fantastic book because it demonstrates a lot of friendship. The pig is called Wilbur and the spider is called Charlotte. It made me laugh the beginning and cry at the end when the baby spiders all flew away. Charlotte is my favorite character because she is clever and kind. When Wilbur is lonely Charlotte is a great friend to him.

Another great friendship is between Fern, the 8 year old girl (pretty much my age) and Wilbur the pig. She saved Wilbur's life by begging her Dad not to kill him. He was a runt and very small. She fed him from a bottle and took good care of him. What I like about this book is that there is kindness every step of the way.

I read this book with my Mom outside in our backyard and I still remember it.

News by Ryan

Breaking News!

The biggest avalanche that has occurred in modern history happened in Salt Lake City, USA.  Luckily nobody was hurt, but an entire copper mine had to be shut down because of the avalanche.  Avalanches are mainly snow, but this one was rocks and dirt!  Here is a video about it:

Fantastic Mr Fox

Fantastic Mr. Fox it is my favorite Roald Dahl book because it's all about a fox which is my second favorite animal. The protagonist is Mr. Fox and the antagonists are three nasty farmers named Farmer Boggis, Farmer Bunce and Farmer Bean.

The mean farmers try to capture Mr. Fox but he is very, very clever. The farmers try to surround him and starve him so he'll have to come out. However, Mr. Fox is tricky and digs tunnels to find food and to help his family and friends to not starve.

There is an exciting part of the book where two big mechanical shovels try to dig out Mr. Fox and his family but they quickly run away. It makes your heart beat really fast to read it!

This book teaches you about bullying. You should not bully because it's very unkind. It also teaches you that if you're ever trapped, you can dig your way out.

Mr. Fox is able to throw a feast for his friends and family and they are all able to celebrate in a big party! I would give this book 1000 out of 1000 stars! It is a really fantastic book! If you read it you will really enjoy it.

haiku

It tickles my hand
It’s like a small ladybird.
Go back to your tree.

Rozenn

Red spotty firebug,
You look like a ladybird,
You have lovely spots.

Claudia

Sleepy praying priest,
Wish good luck to the firebug:
Fly baby firebug!

Jacques

It smells like cherry,
Lavender feels soft like fur,
It has flowers on.

Amelia

On the lavender
There is one last small flower
Which is dying now.

Alicia

Olive tree, cold, freeze,
Rosemary, maple tree burns,
Lavender curls up.

Pablo

Bushes that smell nice:
Lavender and Rosemary;
Not those spiky balls.

Tobias

Old olive tree curled,
Enjoying the gentle breeze,
Sprouting fresh olives.

Mimi

 Light sings through the trees.
Leaves fall with a crunch of bugs.
The bugs are pretty crazy.

Penelope

When the red leaves fall,
The red firebugs fall as well,
And caterpillars.

Cristina

When the leaves fall down
They turn red and yellow up down
There are also fruit.

Maia

The maple is big,
Leaves have only six sides.
See, a spiky ball!

Fernando

Green spikes everywhere,
Maple tree hung with stink bombs:
I gave one to Jacques.

Gustavo

Red maple tree leaf,
Falling on the short green grass,
I take you back home.

Clara

The outline is white.
It looks like it is cracking:
A baby bird’s egg.

The Cat Named Comet

A cat named Comet found a secret map! On the map were drawings that showed a maze and a golden well in the center. Inside of the well were millions of fish. So Comet wanted to go find it! The biggest problem was a bridge of tickling plants. Comet had to cross the bridge to get to the well but if the plants tickled his four legs he would fall off. Oh dear! Comet was brave and used his claws to pick the plants up by their roots so they couldn’t tickle him. He made it to the well and had his dinner!

Pebble Questions

We each brought a pebble to school. Here are some of the questions we came up with to ask about our pebbles.

We've used a microscope to look closer at each pebble.

For guidance, we had the "Seven Ws" in mind:
