World Cup simulation in maths

We've been using dice to simulate our own World Cup football in Year 4 (thanks Mrs Patrick for getting us onto this).

We are in our sixteen World Cup teams. The teams are in four groups. Each team plays each other team in its group.

In a match, each team takes it in turns to roll the dice - eight times. If they roll a six, it's a goal!

There are a couple of extra rules. Each team can choose 

•  to have a strong attack: if you roll a five you get another go;
•  to have a good goalkeeper. If the opposition rolls a six, you roll the dice and if you get a one you've saved the goal!

There are three points for a win and one point for a lose. We added up the points together. Now, just eight teams go through to the next round (the red ones):

It's not great being out of the game, but we all understand that the dice roll is random, chance, so we don't take it too personally!

Treasure Games

To finish off our Treasure topic, 4B made Treasure games. And last thing on Friday, they invited 4G in to play them.

My favorite video games part 4

Hi!
Happy Wars is another game I really like, so I'll tell you about it.
In this game there are lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of bosses.
In level five there is the pirate boss and he's SUPER strong, I mean it SUPER strong.

Year 4 IST play games with Klasse 3 DST

Today, we brought in games and played them with our counterparts in DST, Klasse 3. They had made some cakes for us too!

Next week we will be making pop-up Easter cards together. And it'll be our turn to provide the cakes!

This level is the ZOMBOSS of plants vs zombies. As you can see it is in the pirate world. Here is a picture of all the plants.

My favorite video games part 2

Castle Crashers is my favorite game so I'll carry on. We have now killed the ice king and his difficulty is very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very high. Here is a picture of him

We have also beaten the sweetcorn and here is a picture of him:

There is also Medusa and here is a picture of her:

We have also beaten necromancer and here is a picture of him!

We have also killed the painter and here he is! (I don't know if its a boy or not!)
