Cheeky and Zebedy

Cheeky and Zebedy
When I got home Cheeky was very excited. I thought it might be good to first introduce him to Zebedy the Zebra because he comes from the same factory and they’re the same size. As Cheeky is a monkey I decided they should have some sort of
“bouncy fun place.”It worked really well because
when I pulled it it would bounce up because of the
elastic bands. Then, I thought that they might get lost in my bed so I both made them a mini-bedroom.
First,I noticed that Cheeky’s bed-room was too small so, I made one a bit like Zebedy’s. I wonder what I’m going to do next….

About the fabulous Museum

About the fabulous muséum!
It was the natural history museum in Toulouse.
When we finally came I began to get VERY excited.
I was in a group with Penelope.
First, I drew the elephant. It was quite hard. After that we went to the dark room with diamonds …
I wrote a haiku about my favourite diamonds:

It reminds me of
A hedgehog in its shell but…
They do not have one!
It was REALLY dark there.

Although I we didn’t stay there long, we had to go.
We walked into a room where we watched a video about the world moving, it was interesting.
Later, we come to the bit that I was was excited about.
It was the bones, I drew one. I thought it was a mini dino but it was a hedgehog!!!

The Mystery Club: Chapter 4

By Maia - continued from Chapter 3

Blocked Forever

When the rocks stopped falling down everyone started talking.
"Stop"shouted Mimi. "I've got a plan to get away."
"Really?"said everyone.
"Well... Alicia you're small enough to go though that little tunnel."
"No, I'm not too small I'm too big!" protested Alicia.
"Let's go!" I said when Mimi had finished explaining.
Pablo shone a torch where Alicia had to go...

Hope you read chapter five. Maia.

Pippi Longstocking

By Maia
Introduction:
Pippi Longstocking is an amazing girl.
She has a very useful monkey from her dad.
About her mum and dad:
Her mum died when Pippi was born. She believes that her  mother is up in heaven and always looking down at her and guiding her. Pippi’s dad  was a sailor. He was ship wrecked. Pippi is a unique girl, so she says that her dad swam to an island and became king of that island!!!
She also has a horse.
She becomes friends with her neighbours after she moves in.
It’s a boy and a girl and they do exciting and funny things together.
I like this book because I can relate to Pippi.
                  For example:
She’s got red hair and I have blonde hair, we both REALLY like adventures,
it’s part of our life we could not live without it !
Well anyway back where I’m supposed to be…
I love this book and I really recommend it, it is very funny, I think it is really good for all the family to read it.
This book is like Mr.Gum because it makes you laugh, but it is not disgusting and has different sorts of jokes.
A part of it that I’ll never forget:
At the circus she is a spectator but she becomes a performer…! Because she’s an amazing girl she can even carry a house so there is a really heavy thing and she picks it up. The adult has difficulty pulling it up himself!!! She also does other funny things for you to find out.
The things that Pippi is amazing at and the original things she does:
1.      She can catch burglars in the night.
2.      She’s super strong.
3.      She’s got a horse in her little garden.
4.      She makes pancakes on the floor!
5.      She walks backwards so that on the way back she is the right way round!

Hope you enjoyed. Maia

Rome

By Maia

When we got to Rome by aeroplane, we went on to an extra big comfy car. When we went in our room in the B and B, I was surprised how the room was nice, there was a picture of the Colosseum.

The first full day:

In the morning we went to a café that sold croissants, then we started to walk to the Vatican. The Vatican is a building that has domes and where the very famous paintings are.

About the pictures:

When we got inside we could not talk at all…

They were made by Michelangelo. Here is where S.Peter was buried:

The next day:

This day we went to the old Roman remains, interesting.

When we arrived we gasped.

All the things that we saw were about 2,000 years old!

This is one of my best bits because it’s a racing place.

I can imagine being with a horse and running round with famous people looking at me.

They are not sure if it was a private one or a public one. What do you think it was?

This definitely my favourite part:

The seven Roman poles.

I love these because I like how they twirl up.

I always like to smooooth them!

Do you like them?

That same day I got my first ever double ice cream!

I had tiramisu and chocolate !

Does that sound nice!?

The third day:

First we went to the Colosseum, it was AMAZING !

In the Colosseum there was a full day of entertainment, the gladiaters, my favourite part was at the end.

Gladiators fought until one of them died when they did, they put sand over the blood.

Gladiators were mostly slaves.

Gladiators didn’t just fight people, also animals.

Here is where the animals were kept.

They had something a bit like cranes attached on a cage to pull them on stage.

More than 70,000 people watched animals dying and circus performances.

I’m glad that I’m not a gladiator, and you?

The fourth day:

This day we went to Pompeii.

Pompeii is a village near a volcano called Vesuvius and the sea.

It was buried under ash for almost 2,000 years.

This is one of my favourites, The Basilica.

It must have been a good one, do you think so?

Inside they judged if people had been bad or good.

Have you been good…?

I really like Pompeii because it felt that you were on holiday and walking down a new modern street!

Here is a person that could not get away. Archaeologists put plaster into the holes where the bodies were, and we can also see the pattern of the clothes! The bones had gone exept the skull and teeth.

This is when I pretended to serve food to Mum at an old snack bar. You can see where they kept the food in jars to keep it warm.

The fifth day:

We went to gardens and we took a little bike ride...

It wasn't any sort of bike…

It was four in one bike!

It was great fun being in the front, there was a fake steering wheel! Would you like to be there ?

Some times it was scary because there were people in the way and we had to go down hill. There was a really funny thing that we had to sometimes. Toby and I had to take turns to pull the back because we couldn't move!

It was hard work sometimes, I only did it once.

Would you like to do it? This was a funny bit, where I had to stop peddling! We didn't have that much room to go round the fountain!

The last day :

The last day we had less time because we had to leave at four o'clock.

We went up a hill and had a picnic. At the top of the hill there was a lovely view, we could see The Vatican where the Pope lives and all the things we did. Down at the end of the hill was a really nice fountain. We watched a bit of a Punch and Judy show. If you don’t know what Punch and Judy is, it’s a funny puppet show. Punch and Judy originally came from Italy, which is why the puppets look almost the same as the English ones. The problem was that I don’t understand Italian, it makes my head dizzy!
Though I can understand the voice expression. Do you like puppet shows?

About my souvenirs:

The first day I bought two things: a glass ornament with the Vatican on and a bear cake mould.

When I came back I made a cake with it and it was scrummy!

I've put the glass ornament on my desk and I look at it all the time.

The next day I bought a Roman sticker book and I've already done The Roman shops, The Romans at dinner time and the gladiators.

Would you have liked it? When I went to Pompeii I bought a book all about Pompeii that I’m going to tell you about at the end.

The last day I had a double ice cream with cream on top !!!

The book:

In this book I learned that when the smoke started to come out people escaped, but people thought that they would survive in their homes but they didn’t.

The day before the explosion the earth rumbled and buildings crumbled a bit but the Pompeiians were used to it because they had bad earthquakes sometimes. They died because of the heat and because ash burns your lungs.

When it happened it started exploding at ten o’clock in the morning.

Chapter One: Animals Forever

By Maia

My dream forever

The morning  awoke with cold air on Clara's cheek.
"My Birthday!" announced Clara, happy.
"You're only five and you're HUGE!" said her brother, Oscar.
"Oh, stop all that nonsense!" shouted Clara.
"Stop all that nonsense," sighed her parents a bit happy.
Clara creaked open the door of her parents' room.
"We've got the best present for you after you get dressed," said her mum.
So she skipped to her bed, and got dressed as quickly as she could. They went outside to see her present.
"A horse!" cried out Clara.

The Mystery Club: Chapter 2

By Maia - continued from Chapter 1

The Jungle Girl

Well, we went to a tree and made a house. We worked SO hard until it was very good.

At that exact instant that we finished it...
A young woman slid down a tree.
"Who who are you?" she stammered.
"Well first we need tell you something..." Maia said.
"We've turned 24," explained Mimi.
"We're normally 8 and some 9," added Pablo.
"We need to be in Mr Gregg's class now!" cried  Sanika.
"Calm down. I'm like you. I'm called Alicia," Alicia whispered.

"Are you in our class?" we all asked.
"Yes " replied Alicia.

The Mystery Club: Chapter 1

By Maia

I opened my eyes something strange, something not normal at all, something....

I was 24 years old and my Mimi, one of my friends, was also 24...

But not JUST that around me it was, oh I don't really know. It was just too strange...

SCRUNCH a noise came, we froze in fear and held our hands tight.
It was a puppy. We all  started to cuddle, him but instead he led us to a puddle of water.

"How strange!" said Mimi, surprised
"Yeah why a big puddle? "asked Pablo.
"Don't ask us," Maia and Sanika said  at the same time.
"BUT why...?" we said all together.

Maia’s breakfast news

Well I am Maia, in Y4G and I am going to give you news.
Hope you enjoy it and read it. Thank you.

Today you’re going to hear
about lions like this one.
He looks quite little to me.
He’s hiding in the leaves.

Lions are facing extinction in West Africa.

Scientists are very worried because there are only 400 left in the area, and it will take them at least six years to get them back. They are probably dying out because of hunting.I hope all the animals don’t die out. It’s very sad if they do.

The Twits

The story off the twits by Roald Dahl
It's about a lady and a man that do not like each other.
Mrs Twit wanted to do a trick so she did she put her fake
eye in Mr Twits cup when he was not looking and as you imagine
he jumped out of his skin !
The more Mr Twit was shocked, the more Mrs Twit laughed and laughed.
So Mr Twit wanted to pay her back and he actually put a frog in her
bed - YUCKY!

Near the end Mr Twit says that she has the shrinks so Mrs Twit
starts worrying, (She has not really got it but she believes him!)
So Mr Twit put her on some balloons, he was going to leave her
but Mrs Twit says"are you sure that I'm safe?"
And Mr Twit says "I will sort it out" and he cuts some strings and she goes flying. A few seconds later Mr Twit was already thinking
about the joke and all the marvellous time he would have without Mrs Twit. (Read it to know about it.)

At first Mrs Twit looked nice but she kept on thinking that she was ugly so gradually she went ugly and became so ugly!

How Things Look Like and What They Had

Mr  and Mrs Twit had one horrible tree in their garden and their tall grey house.
Mr Twit had four monkeys a dad and a mum and the two children .
The house has no windows because they hated the children!

Back To The Story

Now Mr Twit loved bird pie.
To get the birds he put the stickiest glue in the world on his horrible tree
and the birds flew on it and got captured .
One day four boys investigated the garden and went to see the
monkeys and then they went on the tree to sit down and  they got STUCK!(Because of the sticky glue!)
A boy had an idea so he cried out "leave your trousers alone"
so the boys fled as fast has they could with their bottoms stuck OUT!

If you want to find out the rest read it!

haiku

It tickles my hand
It’s like a small ladybird.
Go back to your tree.

Rozenn

Red spotty firebug,
You look like a ladybird,
You have lovely spots.

Claudia

Sleepy praying priest,
Wish good luck to the firebug:
Fly baby firebug!

Jacques

It smells like cherry,
Lavender feels soft like fur,
It has flowers on.

Amelia

On the lavender
There is one last small flower
Which is dying now.

Alicia

Olive tree, cold, freeze,
Rosemary, maple tree burns,
Lavender curls up.

Pablo

Bushes that smell nice:
Lavender and Rosemary;
Not those spiky balls.

Tobias

Old olive tree curled,
Enjoying the gentle breeze,
Sprouting fresh olives.

Mimi

 Light sings through the trees.
Leaves fall with a crunch of bugs.
The bugs are pretty crazy.

Penelope

When the red leaves fall,
The red firebugs fall as well,
And caterpillars.

Cristina

When the leaves fall down
They turn red and yellow up down
There are also fruit.

Maia

The maple is big,
Leaves have only six sides.
See, a spiky ball!

Fernando

Green spikes everywhere,
Maple tree hung with stink bombs:
I gave one to Jacques.

Gustavo

Red maple tree leaf,
Falling on the short green grass,
I take you back home.

Clara

The outline is white.
It looks like it is cracking:
A baby bird’s egg.

Ryan
