Looking closer at our Cuisenaire patterns

We didn't stop with just making our patterns. We tried to understand how each step in the pattern built up from the last one.

Maia and Amelia looked closely at their flag shapes

Mimi and Maëlle looked closely at their rectangles

Gustavo and Jacques added up all the squares in Gustavo's pyramid. The total was 385. They checked it on the calculator. After that they had a go at drawing it on dotty paper. They were brilliant!
