Cubes to squares puzzle

Here's a little puzzle we tried in 4G. We made three cubes with Cuisenaire rods: a 1 x 1 x 1 cube, a 2 x 2 x 2 cube and a 3 x 3 x 3 cube.
Then, once we'd made them, we made a square with all the Cuisenaire rods that we'd used to make the cubes.

The adventures in the Muséum

On Friday morning we were so excited, we were going to the Natural history museum. When we arrived there was a gigantic elephant. We had to sketsch the elephant.

After that, we went to see the minerals. I chose mineral pyrite. It is pixel metal.

Next we went to see the skeletons. We decided to sketch a big gorilla and a little gorilla.

After, we saw the animals. I sketched monk fish, buffalo, bat, lama, snake, kiwi, toucan and for last paradise bird.

Then we saw the things that men used a long time ago.

There was loads of things like a boat and other swords and spheres and knight Viking helmet.

Then we went to the last room where all the polar bears were.

I saw a gigantic polar bear.

It was lunch time so we went outside the museum.

We had our lunch we played in the park and then to the bus and to school.

Mickey and Minnie

Mickey and Minnie were going on a cruise ship. In the cruise ship they were playing this game, curling.

When they went into the cruise ship everything was normal. Mickey saw some dolphins jump.

Suddenly, a car arrived and took Mickey. Mickey was in front of a secret agent.

The secret agent said to Mickey, "Are you prepared to be a secret agent?"

And he was.

Then at night time a robber came and stole a bag. Mickey rushed to get the bag. Mickey got the robber and the robber wobbled with anger. Mickey threw a curling stone and the robber fell down. Mickey got the bag, and the robber was sent to jail. Mickey gave the bag back.

Then Mickey spied on different rooms, but he didn't find anything. He looked for suspicious people. He finished the list. Then an old lady dropped her knitting wool. Mickey took it and was giving it to her when she said, "Mine! Mine!" and she smacked Mickey with her hand. Then a villain came with a gun and he took Mickey and Minnie in a room, with the old lady too, tied up with ropes.

Mickey used his teeth to get them out. Mickey punched the villain and Minnie kicked him, and they put him in jail.

Fantastic Mr Fox

In a farm lived animals hunters. Under ground lived four foxes. Their  house was a tree and Mr Fox went to get some chicken for lunch. The farm's alarm switched on and the fox was in a hurry! On the way back the hunters were there and suddenly they shot at Mr. Fox tail and unfortunately he lost its tail and it was very sad.

Afterwards he went to his house to eat a chicken. After eating the chicken the fox said: "Mmmm! It's delicious but I'm thinking that I'm not safe at home".

The foxes went to a hole and it was safe.

In the Future (part three)

Continued from Part 2

The inventor went to planet Rain Forest. His new pistol was a lightning gun. He went in the middle of the jungle and suddenly a giant Cyclops was trying to squeeze him. He used the lightning gun and he made the Cyclops go to sleep. 

He was going to go to the time machine. Then he saw some giant eggs with green spots. He cracked all the eggs but then Cyclops appeared. He took a chili and put it in the pistol. A big lightning explosion made them sleep. He went back to the time machine. He was safe…     

In the Future part 2

Continued from In the Future

The inventor went back home. He got his slime gun and went to the dark planet. 

Then he needed to pass different tests of aliens. First, he passed into the labyrinth where he met a bird. Suddenly, the bird transformed into a monster. It had snake eyes and it nearly poisoned him. The inventor shot the slime; he melted.

The next level was the Chinese dragon and a giant dragon appeared and he bit his finger. He jumped very high and put slime on his neck, then he immobilized him. He got the key and went in the door...

In the Future

There was an inventor that invented a time machine. To invent the time machine he needed some ingredients. He needed a brain, a spider, ghost slime and a new clock.

He went inside the time machine and went to another planet. It was the future. In the future, his house was in space and we had flying cars. In the city were some aliens. Good luck that the inventor had made a laser gun! He went with the laser gun to capture them. The gun shot jail bars. He finally trapped all those aliens and got to his house.

Pebble Questions

We each brought a pebble to school. Here are some of the questions we came up with to ask about our pebbles.

We've used a microscope to look closer at each pebble.




For guidance, we had the "Seven Ws" in mind:
